Easter: Abiding Care Celebrates with Old People’s Home

In the spirit of the Easter celebration, an NGO, Abiding Able Care Initiative, has donated food items, detergents and clothes to Catholic Old Peoples Home, 28 Bowen Avenue Road, Otovwodo (Agbassa), Warri on Friday.

Speaking during the presentation, the Okpe-born Chief Administrator of the NGO,  Chief Dickson Obirenfoju, explained that the gesture was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged. ” At this time of celebration, we thought it wise to celebrate with our mothers in this old people’s home so that they can have the positive  impact of the celebration of the festive period.”

Receiving the items, a spoke person of the old people, Ma  Janet Segede, thanked the NGO for the gesture, as she prayed that God would bless their chief administrator and other members of the organization with long life and good health.

Chief Obirenfoju in a chat with newsmen shortly after the donation, disclosed that the three-year old NGO has a membership strength of 345 across the globe and that it was formed purposely to help the less-privileged and also to contribute to the development of the society, calling on good-spirited Nigerians to join the organization.

While disclosing that the major challenge of the NGO is insufficient funds to implement its philanthropic activities to the less-privileged, the Edjeba-Agbarha Warri  based philanthropist,  popularly called Agbakara,  listed the scholarship award to ten post primary school students as part of the major achievements of  theNGO, disclosing further that there will be a grand reception for members and their guests at the prestigious Bridge View Hotels,Warri, later in the day.

Other distinguished members of the NGO according to him, are: Hon Marvins  Onojeghwo (Deputy Chief Administrator), Dr Bassey, Ase Edore (Vice Chairman Welfare Committee) Magdalene Mary Ayube, Chinenye Oningbo, Sir Abel Idoruor, amongst others.
